JP Morgan Corporate Challenge

In mid-September, Jon ran for Autodesk in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge. This was a 4,000 person race in the Presidio in San Francisco. The race was 3.5 miles long around the old Presidio airfield with spectacular city, bay, and bridge views. Autodesk fielded about 80 runners. We had dinner afterwards at Sports Basement.

In mid-September, Jon began a long trip to Asia - for both business and pleasure. The business portion was in four cities in China and then five cities in India. Afterwards he flew to Bangkok and joined Care for vacation in Bhutan.

Guangzhou

In Guangzhou, we opened a Building Lifecycle Management Laboratory at the South China University of Technology.

Beijing

In Beijing - Jon, Guanpei, and Jim opened a Building Lifecycle Management laboratory at Tsinghua University.

Shenyang

Mid-week we went to Shenyang, a mid sized city (4,500,000) in Northeastern China. It was an early capital of the Qing Dynasty and has a miniature version of the Forbidden City as well as some famous tombs. We were there to meet with a committee of architecture school deans in the evening. We had some free time during the day and Yabin and I toured the city - looking for history and exotic modern architecture.
