October was a busy month. Nothing photogenic happened until late October with back-to-back trips to Sea Ranch and New York. We hit both coasts in the span of two weekends, and had quite different experiences - one very rural, and the other very urban. While we were in NYC, Northern Calfiornia was hit with wildfires and power shutdowns. This allowed us to test our new Tesla Powerwalls.
Sea Ranch - Fitzgerald House
In last October, we went to Sea Ranch. Our favorite house, The Cove, had been sold so we had to try a new house, The Fitzgerald House. It was a nice 2 bedroom house in a meadow overlooking the ocean, farther north than we are used to but it as a nice house with the classic Sea Ranch vibe.
New York
The weekend after Sea Ranch we went to New York City. Jon was attending an Architectural Record Innovation conference at the New School, so we took the opportunity to make a long weekend of it. We stayed at the W Union Square, a pretty convenient location. On Saturday we walked up the Highline to Hudson Yards and went up in Thomas Heaterwick's vessel. We walked up to Central Park and down 5th Avenue. On the way we passed a protest near Trump Tower. We saw several new tall skinny residential high rises on Central Park South. The architects apparently feel their buildings cannot be too tall or too thin. Sunday was rainy. Monday we went to the newly renovated Museum of Modern Art and met our friend Dick for lunch.
