WFR Recertification

The weekend of June 1,2,3 Jon did his Wilderness First Responder recertification course in the Marin Headlands.

Big Island, Hawaii
Tues, June 5 – Hop on the jet bus in the morning and arrive in Kona at noon. Jon opted for a Mustang for his fantasy Hawaiian vacation. Can you say 5-0?

We took it easy with lunch at the resort and a walk around the property to see the changes. Although we are staying in the exact same room as 12 years ago, a pool now sits outside our balcony- adults only. Dinner at Roys and early to bed.
 

Wed, June 6 – Beautiful morning, great coffee, relaxing and reading.

After a tennis clinic, we go for an early lunch at the home owners grill. Here Jon has his first Mai Tai on the trip. We follow lunch with a competitive match of singles before Jon heads off to his massage.

June 7 and 8 – Thur/Fri.

Its all becoming a blur. Relaxation, food, sun, water, etc. We get up early and walk over to the Trading Post to pick up coffee and bagel/muffin for breakfast. Rest before tennis then clinic and singles challenge to get our exercise in for the day. Back for a shower and more reading and hanging out. Lunch and back to the pool. Shower and then dinner. What a day.

In between there is time for a massage, cocktails courtesy of the Four Seasons Management and walks along the beach. On Wed we ventured down the coast to Keauhou for dinner sharing our sushi with a boisterous wedding party.


Friday, we drove up to the North Kohala Shore until the road dead-ends at the Pololu Lookout. There is a great view of the Pololu Valley and the shoreline. In the midst of a summer shower we motored with the top down in the convertible on to Waimea. There we enjoyed dinner at Merriman”s before heading back to the resort.

June 8-9, Sat and Sun
We took a few pictures of our room and its view.

There is a nice walk south fronting on the golf course and some of the residences.

On June 13, Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom toured the Autodesk Gallery

Care Audi S4

In mid June, Care traded in her trusty 1999 Audi A4 for a new S4 with lots of new electronics to learn.  Buggi has not gotten used to the new car smell.

TED Global

In  late June, Jon and his team participated in TED Global in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Autodesk sponsored a Cage Match on Wed night at Gillie Du - a local watering hole.
