Highlights of February 2000

Palm Springs, CA

Jon was attending the Demo 2000 conference early in February so we decided to spend the weekend prior to the conference in Palm Springs. Besides enjoying the warm, sunny weather we took a tennis clinic Sat & Sun with Reed Anderson, played in a tennis tournament sponsored by Demo 2000 and hiked around the Nature Conservancy's Cochella Valley.

After leaving the Cochella Valley forest of palms and oasis, we headed northwest to the San Bernadino Mountains and caught the tram ride up to the top of the mountain. It was quite a temperature shock after hiking in the desert.

We caught the sun setting over the Cochella Valley which includes Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and Indian Wells.

Our hotel was the Renaissance Esmeralda located in Indian Wells. The view from our balcony was the golf course with the mountain backdrop.
