November, as always, was a transitional month. The weather started warm and sunny and ended cold and rainy. We go ready for winter. Jon took a trip to Banff, up in Alberta, Canada to the Acadia conference as part of an NSF Icorps project he is working on.
Banff
Jon went to Banff, Alberta to attend the ACADIA conference. The last time he was at ACADIA was about 20 years ago and there were about 30 people there. This was much bigger ~300+. He went as part of an NSF i-Corps project looking at machine learning in architectural design. The conference was at the Banff Center for Innovation and Creativity on the hillside above Banff. Jon stayed at a hotel in town and took an extra day to drive up to Lake Louise (in the snow) and hike the Tunnel Mountain trail above Banff.
