June featured a quick trip to the Midwest (Missouri) for a military event and to see friends. At the end of the month, I sold N478C, a Cirrus SR-22 I have flown for 18 years.
Ghost's Change of Command at Whiteman Air Force Base
In late June, Jon went to Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, where the US B2 Bomber fleet is based, for Colonel Keith "Ghost" Butler's Change of Command ceremony. He got to fly a B2 in a simulator and get a close-up tour (including cockpit) of a B2. Unfortunately (but understandably) no pictures were allowed of the B2.

Visiting Boyd and Barb in St. Louis
After Whiteman, Jon went to St. Louis to visit our friends Boyd and Barb. He had not been in St. Louis since our wedding. We toured the St. Louis Arch, Ballpark Village, Union Station, St. Louis Cathedral, Forest Park, Missouri Botanical Gardens, and St. Charles. One of the highlights of the trip - besides spending time with Boyd and Barb was the extensive Chihuly Glass Exhibition the Missouri Botanical Garden. St. Louis had not changed much, but it was fun to see the place I lived for three years in my youth.
Auf Whedersehn N478C
At the end of June, I sold N478C, a Cirrus SR22 I have flown for 18 years. I bought it in 2005. It was a great plane. It left Northern Califoria with a ferry pilot for San Diego for its pre-buy inspection and will then wing its way to its new owner in Texas.
