August was mostly at home in between trips - Glaciar in July and Indonesia in September. We did do a quick tennis camp weekend in Santa Barbara and celebrated Scott Sheppard's Autodesk retirement.
Bacara Tennis Camp in Santa Barbara
Late in August we went to the Bacara resort in Santa Barbara for a Drysdale Tennis Camp. We had not been back in Santa Barbara for many years and it was fun reconnecting with a place we lived for the first five years of our marriage. The camp was fun and the resort was very nice. The courts were near Haskell's beach where there was a great food truck and a historical marker identifying the only place on the U.S. mainland that the Japanese attacked in WWII. We had some nice meals and reconnected with our friend Dave, who still lives in Santa Barbara. On the first day of tennis camp, we won the "most valuable player" award.
Scott Sheppard's Retirement Party
At the end of August, we went down to the Autodesk gallery for Scott Sheppard's retirement party. Lots of old friends and collagues were there and we got to reconnect with several members of Jon's old team.
